The Most Harmonious Song of the Stars or End-of-the-Day Music

excerpt-  Broken Stone – Chapter: A Touch of Connection

-Together we would rock in our chairs on the porch, and listen to
nature’s melodious end-of-the-day music. I would
breathe in the fragrant air and felt I was a part of all
that was in the world. Our world. I felt joy in my heart,
a connection to life. I felt something larger, peace and
love. The crickets, tree frogs, the fairy wings, the birds,
the trees, and plants shifting and growing, as well as the
stars in the sky—all sang to me the most harmonious
song. It was nature’s love song. It was the soul song of
the earth. It was my song too. I liked the night.

That Haunting Question

get-attachment_(3)Introduction
There resides a haunting question within the
innermost recesses of man and woman. It is in the
ignoring of this eternal, or some might say “infernal,”
question that life happens. It can be a life lived in
so-called happiness, or it can be a life fraught with
many pitfalls and hardships. The question may arise in
the mind, but it must be solved in the heart. There it
will reside in that heart indefinitely until it is discerned
and solved.
Poets have probed this question for generations,
sometimes with agony, sometimes with a sense of
wonderment, but mostly with a sense of longing to
discover the answer. Many stories have this question as
the basis of the story, whether they are aware of it or not.
It is the hidden question that drives the characters, the
plot, and the conclusion. Songs almost always have this
question somewhere in the melody, the composition,
the words, or the notes. Paintings and artworks of
course can be added to this list, and on and on it can go.
This is a question that has plagued mankind for
generations. It can be said that it might actually be
the human condition. Thus it is an inner yearning or
discontent realized or ignored. The pursuit of the
answer can bring happiness or despair, depending on
the discernment, right or wrong of the answer. Actually,
happiness may accompany the wrong answer; but if
that person digs deeply, it is not actually joy but more
likely ego, selfishness, greed, or the love of power.
A very select group of people has actually correctly
discerned the question and answer and lived this
answer to great achievement, although outward
appearances may suggest otherwise, such as humility,
scarcity, disability, or even disease. However, if a person
is willing or forced to dig deep enough, the question
and the truth can be found with divine transformation
as the result.
This most mysterious question can burn a hole in
the heart, but with the right answer, it can be healed.
This hole may be the result of the way this life is lived,
or it may be the result of ancestors ignoring the great
question. They pass it forward to next generations in
the hopes that it will be easier for them to solve as they
learn from their elders. Or, and this is hard for many
to believe, this disease of life can come from previous
lifetimes. It may be lifetimes that ended incompletely,
abruptly, without accomplishing the goals of life, so
that the person has to return yet again to solve this
mysterious question and endeavor to find the answer.
Sometimes a person must come back again and again,
maybe thousands of lifetimes, getting closer each time
attempting to solve this mystery, until eventually this
question of life is answered. Ultimately then, life is
lived in peacefulness, abundance, and joy.
This story, although fiction (or not?), is essentially
about that question and the pursuit of the answer. It
is inspired by an actual event and a very real, peculiar,
broken headstone of a young woman from the early
1900s. That gravesite beckoned an unsuspecting man
to it one normal day, ensnaring him thus ensuring
that her story would be told. That encounter changed
the unsuspecting man’s life forever. Well, more than
one person’s life actually. As it is said, it created “the
ripple effect.”
It is hoped that the reader may see a bit of themselves,
or maybe someone they know, and recognize that
question hidden deep within each of them. The
ignoring of which has created wars, famine, pestilence,
and all manner of pains and ills. It is hoped that the
reader will find the answer to this question as well so
that the heart will receive its healing. Then ultimately,
the ripple effect will happen again, creating peace that
will be felt, thus pushing that peace or love forward.
All it takes is one person, one person at a time to affect
goodwill. It is my—our—prayer that this will take
place, one word, one note at a time. Please indulge your
imagination and enjoy this fairy’s tale with the love and
respect in which it was written.
What is the question? You already know. Who am I?
Why am I here? What is my purpose? What is this thing
called love?
Enjoy, in joy!
Starlight, precious Fairy Bright, you/we did indeed
create more light!

The Day After Tomorrow – Music and Lyrics – Ahhh…….

WhitneyKuai

The Day After Tomorrow

The day after tomorrow, I’m gonna have a new life

The day after tomorrow, I’m gonna live in the light

I’ll forget all the sorrow, and those things I can’t change

The day after tomorrow, all I’ll do is sing.

The day after tomorrow, I’ll be back in the green

I won’t need to borrow, cause there’s nothing I need

There’s no winners or losers, and I’m only to blame

The day after tomorrow, I’m gonna live like a king.

I’ve got to keep on moving I can’t fly in a stall

Each days a new adventure since I’m part of, I’m part of it all.

The day after tomorrow, I’ll be warm in the sun

And radiating around me, an unconditional love

Life’s act of forgiveness, takes away all the pain

The day after tomorrow, life won’t be the same.

They say you need to live your life one moment at a time

But the days ahead look lovely ‘cause the future, the future is mine.

The day after tomorrow, where the mystery’s concealed

Where light rules over darkness, and the truth is revealed

I’ll create my life’s story, with no future to fear

The day after tomorrow, you’ll find me right here

The day after tomorrow, that moment is now.

Of Angels and Fairies – Mother (an excerpt)

Mother's Symbol

Of Angels and Fairies
Elizabeth Towne, NC, 1917
Mother
The pain is brief. It actually is a welcome relief from
the deeply embedded pain in my heart and soul.
This is so much quicker and easier than that horrendous
pain of losing my beloved. Why? What is the purpose
of his senseless death? So that one man can face
another, and get rid of his life so that he can feel more
powerful? Damn the war! How could death or murder
be justified on any level? The aftermath—unthinkable
pain. The aftermath—the eyes of my beloved in a new
divine form.

She comes forth, out of my body, out of my being,
an exquisite jewel, with eyes so clear, bright and full of
love, that I can hardly look. But I do and drink in every
part of her. I lovingly check out every inch, every tiny                                               fingernail, toe, every luscious curl on her perfect little
head. She is a gift so precious, that I feel honored by
God. I feel angels all around us, laughing in delight and
joy at the birth of this tiny miracle child.
As I look into her innocent, clear, blue eyes, I see
stars sparkling so bright, with the promise of incredible,
delicious delights. I notice out of the side of my vision
flitting creatures, flashes, as if on wings. I see round
bubbles of rainbows floating like precious jeweled drops
amongst the winged ones. They all seem to herald this
new treasure, my little treasure, created with love. I am
overjoyed by their presence.

I was brought up on stories of these “little people”
or fairies, mainly to keep me out of trouble, but I have
never really seen them. That I could not see them
was not acceptable or appreciated by my Ulster Scot
parents! In the old country of Ireland, the fairies or little
people were honored and respected. No one would dare
trespass into their fairy circles or build something on
top of their paths. Farmers often left treats for them
outside in return for favors and the hope that they
would protect their families. To sense them here with
me now, instills a joy so immense in my being, that I
feel as if my heart will burst with joy. And then I feel
pain. It is a searing dread that makes my heart painfully
clench and stop! No, no! It cannot be so!

 N. K. Hertz signing Broken Stone books!

Sparkle Sisters-Sparkle Brothers

SparklesMy Dearest One. You wake up so early, with your mind turning and churning, thinking of the past day and judging it. Did you do good, bad, or indifferent? Did your hurt someone, or yourself? You feel into your body. Does it hurt? How does it feel? Your heart, is it heavy, sad, or happy? Do you feel hot, cold or just right?

You are aware of so many sensations and feelings. So many, many judgments you put against your self. Yourselves. What is the good in that?

Oh, we want to help you so very, very much! If you could only see yourselves as we do, you would not be so harsh upon yourselves. Yourself.

You sparkle like a crystal hanging from a fine chandelier, throwing colors of rainbow around, that dance, bouncing and floating around the rooms, circling and twirling its beautiful light. You are that light.

Do you know when you feel really, really good? You feel you look like a million bucks, or just received a wonderful amount of money, or a great present. Or perhaps you did something for another, and it made you feel really, really good? You sparkled. Well that’s how we see you, always. That is your true self.

When you bury that sparkle with worry, judgment, despair etc. etc., we feel despair too, for you. Then we patiently wait for you to once again remember, that you are a Divine Sparkle. We wait for your sparkle. We wait.

Ah, that is not to say that you are not to feel these things, after all you are human. And we understand being human is not an easy task. In fact, it is very, very difficult task making us admire you even more. Yes, you must face these things, but face them- and then let them go. Release. Poof. Gone.

Don’t keep these thoughts, worries, despair, or angers tethered to your bodies, mind and spirit where they fester and en-flame you. Step under a figurative waterfall. Just use your imagination. As the sparkling, crystalline water flows over you, let those things, thoughts, feelings that are no longer needed, get washed away. Permanently. Gone. Done.

Oh now then, your dazzling sparkle is brilliantly brighter. Your sparkle vibrates with vibrant colors, flashing radiant hues of intensity, creating a feast for the eyes and spirit. We delight in the spectacle. Beautiful ones are noticing you. Good is attracted to you, because of your divine radiance. You even smell beautiful. Notice the dragonfly as it softly alights on your arm inhaling your perfume. You know what we mean.

Sparkle sister. Sparkle brother. Let good have the opportunity to find you. Let your sparkle give good to others

We see you. We love you. We honor you- Crystal Being. My, how you Sparkle. Sister. Brother. (n. k. hertz)

FACE FORWARD- Got my Attention by Great Advice Given

Mandala by Ellen

Yes, it’s interesting and somewhat instructive to know how things got the way
they are. What’s far more important, though, is what you choose to do going
forward.

Pay attention to what has happened but don’t waste your precious and powerful
energy becoming obsessed by it. Put that energy into moving in a positive
direction.

It’s what you can do now that really matters. As big as they might have been,
the expired opportunities of yesterday are now negligible compared to the
possibilities of today.

What you can do now is connect with your most treasured dreams. What you can do
now is act with passion and the highest expectations to bring those dreams to
life.

Instead of living with wistfulness, regret, or anger about the past, you can
live with positive purpose toward a great and shining future. The direction you
face makes all the difference in the world, so make the choice to face forward.

This is a new moment, and with it comes the chance for a new start. Take that
chance, grab that opportunity, and live your life forward in a beautiful and
fulfilling way.

MIRACLES OF LIFE AT THE BEGINNING OF 2014 WITH FAIRY BRIGHT REVIEWS

LIFE IS A MIRACLE by Chris Hertz- Singer, Songwriter, Musician

Jan. 1, 2014-( I opened up my email  and received this divine review. What a way to start a brand new year!! 2014, looks like a remarkable year.)

Wow, what a beautiful job you did with Fairy Bright. I was so impressed with your writing and illustrations that I never finished the book till after midnight. Your description of the foal was so accurate I was wondering where you observed that process. You were right on the money. And then how you gave a life to Fairy Berry not ever knowing her (it was such a positive, purposeful life).
The writing of the story was absolutely superb and the book flowed smoothly. You have to feel real good, I’m proud. Now where are you going to find the next one. I know you will. Thank you so much for the wonderful Christmas present that I will cherish. ( Don B.)

and thenReview of Broken Stone by n. k. hertz
N.K. Hertz is a talented new writer addressing eternal themes in a unique way. Underlying her part parable, part history, part fiction with spiritual, Christian and magical overtones woven together with a light touch are the eternal questions: Who am I? Why am I here? What is my purpose? What is love?
The story was triggered by the discovery of a broken headstone in a cemetery by a Steffen, while having his lunch. It was the pauper’s grave of Fairy Bright Gordon who died in 1934 after a short life.
The novel has clear roots in the southern tradition. It is full of lush descriptions with the heady perfumes and beautiful colours of North Carolina. Birds play a role including the humming bird but most importantly the flashing red cardinal, traditional emissaries of spirit. Fairy bright refers to the humming birds at one point as ‘My beloved fairies in disguise’.
She is very much a child of nature and narrates part of the novel. From her permanent place of rest in the potters field far from the fancy graves of the important people of her town. Yet even there she is graced by the presence of a magnificent dogwood dropping blossom on her broken headstone.
She observes the man on the day that he discovers her grave and picks up on a beautiful song that seems to appear from nowhere. As he contemplates the headstone she makes the decision to tell her story to him. Steffen is a man in crisis in his own life and this is described in detail. He is drawn by the music to begin to feel empowered and resume his passion for music, yet is haunted by the story of Fairy Bright Gordon.
As their stories unfold another player enters, Seta, a young disabled woman from Afghanistan with an American mother and a Sufi master father and a highly evolved level of spirituality. She meets Steffen on an airplane, connects deeply with him and passes him a gift.
About one third of the way into the book Fairy Bright’s story is introduced, itself with spiritual overtones from her moment of birth in 1917. She is a pure being graced with a connection to the fairy worlds, animals and nature, yet the circumstances of her birth result in a challenging life as the child of a widow living on a plantation. Her story is beautifully told from the magic of her childhood to the gradual unfolding of the reality of her vulnerability as her gifts were exploited by the powerful landowner Reynolds Hatcher.
There are surprises, twists and turns in the plot that allow magic to continue to be woven as the interconnection of character’s lives becomes revealed. We know of course that Fairy Bright died young but the suspense of how and why is well maintained. As the book continues further twists in the plot introduce more transforming spiritual themes including near death experience, reincarnation and the power of Love. Highly recommended. And don’t forget the music that accompanies the book! ( Patty Star)
