Yes, it’s interesting and somewhat instructive to know how things got the way they are. What’s far more important, though, is what you choose to do going forward. Pay attention to what has happened but don’t waste your precious and powerful energy becoming obsessed by it. Put that energy into moving in a positive direction. It’s what you can do now that really matters. As big as they might have been, the expired opportunities of yesterday are now negligible compared to the possibilities of today. What you can do now is connect with your most treasured dreams. What you can do now is act with passion and the highest expectations to bring those dreams to life. Instead of living with wistfulness, regret, or anger about the past, you can live with positive purpose toward a great and shining future. The direction you face makes all the difference in the world, so make the choice to face forward. This is a new moment, and with it comes the chance for a new start. Take that chance, grab that opportunity, and live your life forward in a beautiful and fulfilling way. — Ralph Marston Wishing All a Safe, Warm and Blessed Day
LIFE IS A MIRACLE by Chris Hertz- Singer, Songwriter, Musician
Jan. 1, 2014-( I opened up my email and received this divine review. What a way to start a brand new year!! 2014, looks like a remarkable year.)
Wow, what a beautiful job you did with Fairy Bright. I was so impressed with your writing and illustrations that I never finished the book till after midnight. Your description of the foal was so accurate I was wondering where you observed that process. You were right on the money. And then how you gave a life to Fairy Berry not ever knowing her (it was such a positive, purposeful life).
The writing of the story was absolutely superb and the book flowed smoothly. You have to feel real good, I’m proud. Now where are you going to find the next one. I know you will. Thank you so much for the wonderful Christmas present that I will cherish. ( Don B.)
and then – Review of Broken Stone by n. k. hertz
N.K. Hertz is a talented new writer addressing eternal themes in a unique way. Underlying her part parable, part history, part fiction with spiritual, Christian and magical overtones woven together with a light touch are the eternal questions: Who am I? Why am I here? What is my purpose? What is love?
The story was triggered by the discovery of a broken headstone in a cemetery by a Steffen, while having his lunch. It was the pauper’s grave of Fairy Bright Gordon who died in 1934 after a short life.
The novel has clear roots in the southern tradition. It is full of lush descriptions with the heady perfumes and beautiful colours of North Carolina. Birds play a role including the humming bird but most importantly the flashing red cardinal, traditional emissaries of spirit. Fairy bright refers to the humming birds at one point as ‘My beloved fairies in disguise’.
She is very much a child of nature and narrates part of the novel. From her permanent place of rest in the potters field far from the fancy graves of the important people of her town. Yet even there she is graced by the presence of a magnificent dogwood dropping blossom on her broken headstone.
She observes the man on the day that he discovers her grave and picks up on a beautiful song that seems to appear from nowhere. As he contemplates the headstone she makes the decision to tell her story to him. Steffen is a man in crisis in his own life and this is described in detail. He is drawn by the music to begin to feel empowered and resume his passion for music, yet is haunted by the story of Fairy Bright Gordon.
As their stories unfold another player enters, Seta, a young disabled woman from Afghanistan with an American mother and a Sufi master father and a highly evolved level of spirituality. She meets Steffen on an airplane, connects deeply with him and passes him a gift.
About one third of the way into the book Fairy Bright’s story is introduced, itself with spiritual overtones from her moment of birth in 1917. She is a pure being graced with a connection to the fairy worlds, animals and nature, yet the circumstances of her birth result in a challenging life as the child of a widow living on a plantation. Her story is beautifully told from the magic of her childhood to the gradual unfolding of the reality of her vulnerability as her gifts were exploited by the powerful landowner Reynolds Hatcher.
There are surprises, twists and turns in the plot that allow magic to continue to be woven as the interconnection of character’s lives becomes revealed. We know of course that Fairy Bright died young but the suspense of how and why is well maintained. As the book continues further twists in the plot introduce more transforming spiritual themes including near death experience, reincarnation and the power of Love. Highly recommended. And don’t forget the music that accompanies the book! ( Patty Star)

One of my favorite places on the internet, is my fav Amazon.com. There is nothing like that package discovered on my doorstep with the smile printed on the box. I know treasure will be unearthed inside. It gives me shivers to now go to the website, type in Broken Stone Fairy Tale, and pull up my very OWN written book offered for sale for others to treasure. And it is also available through a kindle version. In other words, it is a dream come true that has come to reality.
But I have one question. Who is selling a Used Book?!! Really???
“Ok . . . the few things I know for sure today are these . . .
Firstly we need to be self-contained. Even though we are beginning to move into oneness and unity . . . we cannot count on any other energy to sustain us. We need to learn to thrive on our own inner light. This is a required step in our evolution. So if you feel like the universe has ripped the rug from under your feet, well it just might be true. This is a time when we need to own our personal baggage. It is time to let go of all the guilt and forgive yourself for past situations and events . . . those things that you know you could have handled better. We must remember that, in the past, we did the best that we could have done with the resources we had at that time. We learn a lot from hard situations.”……excert of a quote from a wise woman, Aluna Joy

I have had the opportunity of reading Nancy's book "Broken Stone: -A Real Fairy's Tale" and give it a thumbs up. The book is different in a very good way. I have never read a similar book and feel she must have had some help from above. But that is where good ideas come from anyway - right? I took the book to bed to read a little and could not put it down. (Cecil)
A Broken Headstone
Rosewood Cemetery, Elizabeth, NC, 2010
I am not really here, of course, although sometimes I feel the need to visit. This peacefully tranquil area is serenely beautiful. The gentle rolling grounds are filled with majestic flowering trees, and spectacular rosebushes in rich, luscious colors creating the most heavenly perfume. The well-tended grounds are dotted with many other fragrant flowers and bushes that wind along the road and cascade down the velvety hills. The vibrant colors are a delight, a feast for the eyes and a bouquet for the nose. Some of the trees are older than me. They reach upward like pillars supporting the heavens and then thrust downward to strengthen the earth. They have heard and seen so many events in their long life that for those that can hear, they have fantastic stories to tell. I should know. I have heard them.
There are many interesting stories buried in these grounds. Most may soon be forgotten if they are not forgotten already, like my own story for instance. As I look about, I do not think of those things. I see the beauty in life. When the cherry trees are in bloom, the whole area seems to be reborn, buzzing with the fresh opening of a brand-new spring. Songs from numerous types of birds can be heard from all over the grounds, creating a symphony of pure joy in life. Then the hummingbirds arrive and flit from one flower to another. I love their high-pitched twitter. They tease and chase each other around endlessly. They are really my beloved fairies in disguise! I remember the tricks and the games they play. I used to play them too. As I gaze across the grounds again, I drink in the vibrant, majestic colors of the azaleas, the dogwoods, and the luscious cherry trees. They almost take my breath away! Okay, they do not really take my breath away. They cannot. Because, I am actually beyond breathing.
Excerpt From Broken Stone: A Real Fairy’s Tale – Chapter One
Fairies, Fairies, Everywhere!!
~ We are finally seeing it happen all around us. Old systems are crumbling, the truth is emerging (slowly, but definitely surely), and one by one the people are finally beginning to take notice. As the Veil of Forgetfulness gets thinner and thinner, people will also begin observing and sensing something else; the clear and very real presence of their un-incarnated family and friends. They take a fascinating variety of forms! Lovely Angelics; Light Beings presenting themselves as delicate and colorful Orbs; Galactic Brethren-so much like us ,yet of a much lighter vibration; the Sacred Cetaceans, so playful and happy; the list is endless, and I could go on and on for hours! Today, however, it’s all about the Elemental Realm and in particular, the Fairies.
~ I’ve drawn today’s card from the Angel Therapy deck, and it is entitled “Fairies.” There is so much to say about Fairies, and I know that there are many of you out there who are far more knowledgeable about them than I am. So for now I’m going to focus only on the meaning of the card and the message which is coming through to me as I write. This card is bringing attention to our natural bond with Gaia and the Elemental Realm. It is reminding us that we came here to Earth to be of assistance to Her, in addition to any other duties we agreed to perform. It’s really easy to lose sight of this fact sometimes. As Lightworkers we are becoming more and more conscious of our missions. We are writers, healers, speakers, system-busters… But in addition to these roles, we also – without exception – agreed to come in as Earthly custodians. We are Gaia’s Army!
~ The Fairies wish to remind us that we must each take personal responsibility for the health and recovery of our planet. They are encouraging us to be eco-conscious with each decision we make. This may be done by being selective in the products we buy, the manner in which we prepare our food and dispose of our trash, how we educate our children and the example we set in our community. They wish to make you more aware of their own presence. They would dearly like to connect with you and share their invaluable wisdom!
~ To make contact with the Fairy Realm, you need only step outside your front door! The Fairies are absolutely everywhere in Nature, and as I type this they are quick to step in and say “You don’t need to go outdoors to find us. We are in your homes, surrounding your houseplants and the animals. We are working to purify your water supply.” Try connecting during meditation, or simply close your eyes and allow a message or a vision to take shape. The Fairies are right beside us. They are here in our physical world, living among us and assisting us in ways they we are not even aware of. Their close proximity makes them exceptionally accessible, and somewhat easier for a beginner to see and hear than many of our Galactic and Angelic Guides. Take a walk out in Nature and focus your gaze upon the flowers and they trees. Hold your attention there and allow the connection to take place. Bring a notebook and pen with you and record any impressions that you get. The Fairies are also Master Manifesters! They are anxious to help you bring your creative ideas to fruition!
As I mentioned before, I know that a lot of my readers are already actively working with the Fairies on a regular basis, and I would love for you to share your wisdom with us in the Comment section. Have a magical day… Bella.

“I’ve passed this way before
While driving down a lonely road
I’ve imagined myself in another time
Maybe one that occurred long ago
20,000 years ago
These magical daydreams enrich my life
They keep me sane while I’m out on my own
It’s the feeling that I get remembering what it felt like
Its’ the comfort of an old worn soul
I’ve thought this all along
Like it’s something that I’ve always known
Life’s more fun while you’re on your way
You might arrive, but you can’t call it home
You’ve arrived, but you’re not really home”
