The Great Bison Spirit and the Dakota Access Pipeline

3 days ago by thirdeye52 in dapl

I have gone on vision quest after vision quest, meditated, and fasted for days looking for solutions to help my tribe, and my brothers and sisters protecting the water, earth, and air at Standing Rock by protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). The DAPL is a pipeline which was supposed to run north of Bismarck until it was deemed too dangerous for their water supply. As a result, it was moved just north of the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation on sacred grounds. These grounds are the tribe’s equivalent of the Arlington Cemetery. I have visited both of these sacred sites and will tell you they are one in the same. Not only that, but these are unceded lands taken from the tribe in violation of 1851 treaties which declare them to be Sioux land.

I became involved in this movement after a quick bit of research, revealing the detrimental side effects that pipelines have on the environment. Several studies conducted by John’s Hopkins University and Cornell University outline the immediate and long term health hazards to human beings involved with pipelines, and living near their inevitable, unpredictable leaks. The issue around the nation is that pipeline leaks go unnoticed until it is too late, spilling millions of gallons of harmful oil into the environment. People who find themselves unlucky enough to live near a leaking site suffer from a myriad of respiratory disorders (including cancer); and, profound eye, nose, throat, ear and skin irritation, not to mention the life-altering effect such leaks have on pregnant women and unborn infants (I could write an essay on the negative health hazards of pipeline leaks, but luckily they are already out there. I encourage you, my friends, to seek them out and read them).

The catastrophic damages caused by such leaks destroy complete ecosystems, watersheds, fresh water wells, and the rivers that provide drinking water to our nation. The Dakota Access Pipeline will specifically contaminate the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. Because the state of North Dakota is not legally liable to disclose pipeline leaks to the public, the estimated 18 million Americans who get their water from these two iconic rivers are directly in harm’s way. The Missouri and Mississippi Rivers water the Grain Belt of the United States, which provides food for our entire nation and other nations alike, also putting the rest of America at risk.

I went to the steep, snow-capped, isolated mountain ranges held sacred by my tribe to seek guidance in my quest to help. In my meditative visions and in my dreams as I slept, I kept seeing a bison bull. He told me that when the people hurt, we must look to the bison, as they have kept us alive for thousands of years. The Great Bison Spirit told me how his mission in life is complete and it is time for him to transition to The Other Side. I asked how this involved me and how this information would help anything. He told me that no hunter chooses the animal he takes; rather, the animal chooses the hunter. He then told me that he had chosen me for this task and the depth of this burden would hit me in the weeks following the hunt. He said to hunt him wearing a traditional breach cloth and using traditional techniques.

After months of diligent planning and training, the fateful day finally arrived. I grabbed my gear and set out to find the specific bison bull from my visions, the one distinguished by a large black beard and a very unique split horn.

During the hunt I wore an old fur hat and a large brown poncho, making me look somewhat like a bison calf. I covered all of my gear and clothing in local sage scent. Once the herd was spotted at the base of the mountains, I began my stalk. I bent over and walked slowly into the herd of the titanic “Thunder Gods,” trying to mimic their movements. I slowed my heart rate down and matched my breathing with that of the bison as best I could. I made it into the middle of the herd of approximately 200 bison when the lead bull noticed me. He stuck his tail into the air in anger. Bison become very unpredictable when upset. With the ability to run up to 40 mph, faster than most horses I have ever ridden, there is no escaping them. Left with no other option, I knelt down in a submissive position as I backed away, deeper into the herd; ever hopeful that my plan would work. The herd began noticing me as I moved in between them, picking up on my human scent and tendencies, and began getting visibly upset. This is not an ideal location for any human to be.

I thought about all the people who get gored and even killed by bison every year by getting too close. However, there was no way out into a safer position for I had to get close enough to identify the specific bull with the split in his horn. I closed my eyes and prayed that The Great Bison Spirit who summoned me would make himself visible. Out of nowhere I saw a bull charging straight towards the middle of the herd, right where I was standing. He got within about seven yards of me before coming to a stop. He stood tall and strong. The dirt kicked up from his movements began to settle slowly.

He had a large black beard, and massive horns…one of which had a large split in it. It was him, the bison bull from my visions! I followed him, weaving in and out of the 1,000-2,000 pound animals, as he said his goodbyes to his family members in the herd. I felt the sage brush up against my legs, and the soft dirt absorb any noise created by my bare feet as I tried to maneuver through the titans undetected.

When he was ready to go, he looked at me and then looked away, giving me a perfect shot at seven yards. It rang true… I prayed with him as his spirit immediately left, to The Other Side, with my head over his heart. It is at this moment that you can hear the spirit of an animal speak to you most clearly. He told me to walk to the top of the hill adjacent to us. As I did, my friends recorded footage of a golden eagle (my spirit animal) “swooping down out of nowhere, and landing on a fence post behind [me]!” I stood there, at the crest of the hill just looking at the giant Rocky Mountains directly in front of me for several moments in solitude. The cold, crisp October air was full of sage, grass, and distant pine.

I began walking back to the herd. I remembered what the elder who smudged me and blessed my transition tools had said to me just hours prior: “when you send a bison off, back home, you become one of the herd. You become one of them. You will always walk with them for the rest of your life, and they will always walk with you.”

Upon arriving back to the scene, a two year old bull approached me. He looked me in the eyes. That moment felt like an eternity. I had no idea of his intentions. So, I knelt down and stuck my hand out. What happened next utterly astonished me. The elder was correct in every essence of that word. All of the agitated bison were now entirely at ease with me, even after I had taken my fur and poncho off, blatantly looking like a human! I was now able to walk among them and with them in complete harmony, just inches away from some!

EVERY SINGLE part of the bison was used from the hooves to the horns. Some of the bison went to my tribe, and the rest went to the Water Protectors at Standing Rock. I wrote this very abbreviated description because yesterday at the Water Protector camp, thousands of wild bison appeared seemingly out of nowhere. The Mother Earth Spirit is speaking to us. It is up to us to listen. You too must listen to the animals. You too must listen to the wind. You too must learn to be guided by the birds. You too can seek and have visions. You must simply open up your heart and your soul. We, as a species, must reconnect with the Earth. The Earth must stop being treated as a commodity, and needs to be treated like the living, breathing organism that gives us life. Together, we can and WILL end the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Call the White House (202) 456-1111. Call the North Dakota Governor’s office (701) 328-2200. Call the Army Corps of Engineers [(202) 761-0001] and let them hear you! Tell them you want the Dakota Access Pipeline to be stopped NOW!

The Most Harmonious Song of the Stars or End-of-the-Day Music

excerpt-  Broken Stone – Chapter: A Touch of Connection

-Together we would rock in our chairs on the porch, and listen to
nature’s melodious end-of-the-day music. I would
breathe in the fragrant air and felt I was a part of all
that was in the world. Our world. I felt joy in my heart,
a connection to life. I felt something larger, peace and
love. The crickets, tree frogs, the fairy wings, the birds,
the trees, and plants shifting and growing, as well as the
stars in the sky—all sang to me the most harmonious
song. It was nature’s love song. It was the soul song of
the earth. It was my song too. I liked the night.

Photos of Tiny Winged Fairies – I Do Believe

It is SO interesting to see these photographs. Sandy and I photographed fairies in Ireland in 2011. We did not see them until the photos were developed. It was a lovely surprise!  Do I believe in Fairies or Faeries, YES I do. I believe nature has many small “beings or spirits” or whatever word is more comfortable, that assists the planet, thus us.

Do I know if John Hyatt’s photos are real, NO I don’t. But isn’t it fun to think they might?

Faries and Orbs                     This is the photo Sandy took in Ireland in 2011 inside a Fairy Circle.

Thank you Louise, for bringing this article from the Manchester Evening News, April 2, 2014 to my attention. What Glorious Fun!  – Nancy

Manchester lecturer John Hyatt, 53, captured the enchanting images of what he says are fairies in the Rossendale Valley

Fairies photographed by professor John Hyatt

The existence of fairies has long been dismissed and resigned to the realm of children’s books and Disney films.

However Manchester Metropolitan University lecturer John Hyatt claims he now has proof the creatures are real and are residing in the Rossendale Valley.

And he is on a mission to get more adults to believe and ‘bring a bit of magic into their lives.’

John Hyatt, Director of Manchester Institute for Research and Innovation in Art and Design (MIRIAD) at Manchester Metropolitan University snapped images of what he claims are the tiny winged creatures whilst out photographing the Lancashire landscape over the last two years.

And he has now put his photographs on display at a special exhibition.

Fairies in Rossendale Valley photographed by professor John Hyatt

John, 53, who was a member of the Three Johns punk band in the 1980s and 1990s insists his photos are genuine and have not been altered in any way.

And he says adults that have seen them have begun to harbour ideas that they may indeed be real.

He said: “It was a bit of a shock when I blew them up, I did a double take.“I went out afterwards and took pictures of flies and gnats and they just don’t look the same.“People can decide for themselves what they are.“The message to people is to approach them with an open mind.“I think it’s one of those situations where you need to believe to see.“A lot of people who have seen them say they have brought a little bit of magic into their lives and there’s not enough of that around.”

Professor John Hyatt

John, who lives Rawtenstall, has posted some of his images on social media and says they have attracted much debate.

The exhibition, called Rossendale Fairies, will be on show at The Whitaker Museum in Whitaker Park in Rossendale, throughout the spring.

John said the name is a nod to the famous story of the Cottingley fairies where two schoolgirls in Bradford claimed to have photographed fairies in their garden, which they confirmed 60 years later had been faked with cardboard cut-outs.

However he admits the creatures he snapped are a long way from the characters depicted in children’s stories and hopes his pictures will change people’s perceptions of them.

“Everything gets stereotyped, whatever it is.“But there are stranger things in life than fairies, and life grows everywhere.“I don’t believe they are just smaller versions of us and go home and have a cup of tea at the end of the day.“And one is suggesting they have any special powers.“From my experience they were just enjoying themselves and there was a little dance in the sunlight going on.

“They are just beautiful pictures and beauty can make people believe.”

FACE FORWARD- Got my Attention by Great Advice Given

Mandala by Ellen

Yes, it’s interesting and somewhat instructive to know how things got the way
they are. What’s far more important, though, is what you choose to do going
forward.

Pay attention to what has happened but don’t waste your precious and powerful
energy becoming obsessed by it. Put that energy into moving in a positive
direction.

It’s what you can do now that really matters. As big as they might have been,
the expired opportunities of yesterday are now negligible compared to the
possibilities of today.

What you can do now is connect with your most treasured dreams. What you can do
now is act with passion and the highest expectations to bring those dreams to
life.

Instead of living with wistfulness, regret, or anger about the past, you can
live with positive purpose toward a great and shining future. The direction you
face makes all the difference in the world, so make the choice to face forward.

This is a new moment, and with it comes the chance for a new start. Take that
chance, grab that opportunity, and live your life forward in a beautiful and
fulfilling way.

MIRACLES OF LIFE AT THE BEGINNING OF 2014 WITH FAIRY BRIGHT REVIEWS

LIFE IS A MIRACLE by Chris Hertz- Singer, Songwriter, Musician

Jan. 1, 2014-( I opened up my email  and received this divine review. What a way to start a brand new year!! 2014, looks like a remarkable year.)

Wow, what a beautiful job you did with Fairy Bright. I was so impressed with your writing and illustrations that I never finished the book till after midnight. Your description of the foal was so accurate I was wondering where you observed that process. You were right on the money. And then how you gave a life to Fairy Berry not ever knowing her (it was such a positive, purposeful life).
The writing of the story was absolutely superb and the book flowed smoothly. You have to feel real good, I’m proud. Now where are you going to find the next one. I know you will. Thank you so much for the wonderful Christmas present that I will cherish. ( Don B.)

and thenReview of Broken Stone by n. k. hertz
N.K. Hertz is a talented new writer addressing eternal themes in a unique way. Underlying her part parable, part history, part fiction with spiritual, Christian and magical overtones woven together with a light touch are the eternal questions: Who am I? Why am I here? What is my purpose? What is love?
The story was triggered by the discovery of a broken headstone in a cemetery by a Steffen, while having his lunch. It was the pauper’s grave of Fairy Bright Gordon who died in 1934 after a short life.
The novel has clear roots in the southern tradition. It is full of lush descriptions with the heady perfumes and beautiful colours of North Carolina. Birds play a role including the humming bird but most importantly the flashing red cardinal, traditional emissaries of spirit. Fairy bright refers to the humming birds at one point as ‘My beloved fairies in disguise’.
She is very much a child of nature and narrates part of the novel. From her permanent place of rest in the potters field far from the fancy graves of the important people of her town. Yet even there she is graced by the presence of a magnificent dogwood dropping blossom on her broken headstone.
She observes the man on the day that he discovers her grave and picks up on a beautiful song that seems to appear from nowhere. As he contemplates the headstone she makes the decision to tell her story to him. Steffen is a man in crisis in his own life and this is described in detail. He is drawn by the music to begin to feel empowered and resume his passion for music, yet is haunted by the story of Fairy Bright Gordon.
As their stories unfold another player enters, Seta, a young disabled woman from Afghanistan with an American mother and a Sufi master father and a highly evolved level of spirituality. She meets Steffen on an airplane, connects deeply with him and passes him a gift.
About one third of the way into the book Fairy Bright’s story is introduced, itself with spiritual overtones from her moment of birth in 1917. She is a pure being graced with a connection to the fairy worlds, animals and nature, yet the circumstances of her birth result in a challenging life as the child of a widow living on a plantation. Her story is beautifully told from the magic of her childhood to the gradual unfolding of the reality of her vulnerability as her gifts were exploited by the powerful landowner Reynolds Hatcher.
There are surprises, twists and turns in the plot that allow magic to continue to be woven as the interconnection of character’s lives becomes revealed. We know of course that Fairy Bright died young but the suspense of how and why is well maintained. As the book continues further twists in the plot introduce more transforming spiritual themes including near death experience, reincarnation and the power of Love. Highly recommended. And don’t forget the music that accompanies the book! ( Patty Star)

another – Your Book! apologize for not responding sooner, finished it 2 days after getting it. Want to read it again, but all I can say now is I thoroughly enjoyed it. Liked the connections you created between the characters from different era’s and their eventual coming together. Imo, ( that’s all I have lol)  It’s well written, intriguing and captivating! Couldn’t put it down nor did I want to! Well done!  (Jim B.)

But I have one question. Who is selling a Used Book?!! Really???

Movie Trailer Released Soon to be Seen on TV and…?

This came across my radar screen, and I just couldn’t resist sharing! Fairies, Fairies, everywhere!!

Fairies, Fairies, Everywhere!!

~ We are finally seeing it happen all around us.  Old systems are crumbling, the truth is emerging (slowly, but definitely surely), and one by one the people are finally beginning to take notice.  As the Veil of Forgetfulness gets thinner and thinner, people will also begin observing and sensing something else;  the clear and very real presence of their un-incarnated family and friends.  They take a fascinating variety of forms!  Lovely Angelics;  Light Beings presenting themselves as delicate and colorful Orbs;  Galactic Brethren-so much like us ,yet of a much lighter vibration;  the Sacred Cetaceans, so playful and happy;  the list is endless, and I could go on and on for hours!  Today, however, it’s all about the Elemental Realm and in particular, the Fairies.

~ I’ve drawn today’s card from the Angel Therapy deck, and it is entitled “Fairies.”  There is so much to say about Fairies, and I know that there are many of you out there who are far more knowledgeable about them than I am.  So for now I’m going to focus only on the meaning of the card and the message which is coming through to me as I write.  This card is bringing attention to our natural bond with Gaia and the Elemental Realm.  It is reminding us that we came here to Earth to be of assistance to Her, in addition to any other duties we agreed to perform.  It’s really easy to lose sight of this fact sometimes.  As Lightworkers we are becoming more and more conscious of our missions.  We are writers, healers, speakers, system-busters…  But in addition to these roles, we also – without exception – agreed to come in as Earthly custodians.  We are Gaia’s Army!

~ The Fairies wish to remind us that we must each take personal responsibility for the health and recovery of our planet.  They are encouraging us to be eco-conscious with each decision we make.  This may be done by being selective in the products we buy, the manner in which we prepare our food and dispose of our trash, how we educate our children and the example we set in our community.  They wish to make you more aware of their own presence.  They would dearly like to connect with you and share their invaluable wisdom!

images~ To make contact with the Fairy Realm, you need only step outside your front door!  The Fairies are absolutely everywhere in Nature, and as I type this they are quick to step in and say “You don’t need to go outdoors to find us.  We are in your homes, surrounding your houseplants and the animals. We are working to purify your water supply.”  Try connecting during meditation, or simply close your eyes and allow a message or a vision to take shape.  The Fairies are right beside us.  They are here in our physical world, living among us and assisting us in ways they we are not even aware of.  Their close proximity makes them exceptionally accessible, and somewhat easier for a beginner to see and hear than many of our Galactic and Angelic Guides.  Take a walk out in Nature and focus your gaze upon the flowers and they trees.  Hold your attention there and allow the connection to take place.  Bring a notebook and pen with you and record any impressions that you get.  The Fairies are also Master Manifesters!  They are anxious to help you bring your creative ideas to fruition!

As I mentioned before, I know that a lot of my readers are already actively working with the Fairies on a regular basis, and I would love for you to share your wisdom with us in the Comment section.  Have a magical day…  Bella.
